Meet Brian Rupp
I was born outside Lancaster, PA but spent most of my adulthood in Maryland where I met my wife and started a family. I retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years. My family and I moved to Brunswick County in 2019 to settle down after a traveling for so long. We picked Brunswick because we knew it was a place we could grow out family and put down roots.
I’m a father of five, and my youngest is a freshman at North Brunswick High School. Like many families here, I’m not looking at our schools from the outside, I’m living it every day. I’m running because our schools are under real strain. Teachers and staff are being asked to do more with less, facilities are overcrowded, and Brunswick County’s record growth is putting even more pressure on the system. I believe we can do better—with steady leadership, clear priorities, and decisions that respect both students and taxpayers. My platform is simple with these three priorities;
-
Teacher and staff pay. If we’re serious about improving schools, we have to be serious about paying the professionals who make them work. We can’t wait for the General Assembly to solve it for us. Brunswick must protect and strengthen local supplements and take retention seriously.
-
Growth readiness. Brunswick is growing fast. We need disciplined planning for staffing and facilities—and we should let growth pay for growth so our schools stay ahead of demand.
-
Transparency. Parents and taxpayers deserve clear information, clear timelines, and a real voice before big decisions—like a school bond—are locked in.
I’m here to listen, earn your trust, and fight for education’s fair share. If you’d like to get involved, share concerns, or support the campaign, I’d love to hear from you.
